Organize with tags, folders, and links
Three lightweight systems that combine: folders for hierarchy, tags for facets, and links for graph.
Folders
Folders give you a tree. Most people want a shallow one — two levels is usually enough. Use folders for the big buckets ("Work", "Personal", "Reference") and tags for everything else.
Tags
- Type # followed by a word to add a tag (see "Add tags with #").
- Tags can be nested with /: #work/client-a, #work/client-b.
- The same note can carry any number of tags across any number of dimensions.
Links and backlinks
Type @ and start typing a note title to link it (see "Link notes with @"). Todrise shows backlinks on the linked note so the graph goes both ways.
